Social & Emotional Development Workshop
The workshop’s primary objective is to empower children with essential life skills to effectively manage their emotions, foster creative thinking, and develop problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities. Specifically, the focus will be on assisting children in the following areas:
- Emotional Awareness: Guide children to recognize and understand their own emotions better.
- Expressing Emotions Appropriately: Support them in expressing their emotions in a healthy and constructive manner.
- Emotional Regulation: Provide strategies for managing and controlling challenging emotions, including anger and anxiety.
By addressing these aspects, we aim to equip children with the necessary tools to navigate their emotional landscape and manage challenging situations.
The workshops have distinct objectives, which include:
- Encouraging Sharing and Perspective where children share their daily experiences and past narratives, enabling them to gain insights and take a forward-looking perspective on their future.
- Fostering Life Skills in Domains that address participant’s unique situations and experiences.
- Cultivating specific skill sets through creative activities promoting their personal growth and overall development.
The Social-Emotional workshop provides participants with an understanding of one or more of the following areas:

- Stress
- Coping with Stress
- Relationships
- Aspirations
Social & Emotional Development Workshop
Approach
The workshops will embrace an innovative theatre-based group intervention approach, meticulously developed by SAMVAD (Support, Advocacy & Mental Health Interventions for Children in Vulnerable Circumstances and Distress). Furthermore, it will seamlessly integrate purposeful exercises from Bangalore Little Theatre’s (BLT) esteemed Theatre Education program.
By combining SAMVAD’s well-crafted methodology with BLT’s enriching exercises, the workshops aim to create a dynamic and engaging learning environment that nurtures the children’s emotional well-being, fosters creativity, and cultivates essential life skills.
The workshop sessions will focus on participant’s:
- well-being
- resilience
- life-skills
- positivity
- notion of Identity
- self-social
- aspirations for the future
- fears & worries.
